When teeth have chipped, become discoloured are crooked or have spaces between them, dental veneers are a very popular treatment procedure for rectifying blemishes quickly and effectively. Sculpted from fine pieces of porcelain, veneers, once bonded to the front of your teeth become incredibly strong and durable. They are an ideal solution for creating the look you have always wanted with very little disturbance to your tooth's enamel surface.
Similar to other restorative procedures, your teeth are prepared meticulously before detailed veneers are shaped ensuring we achieve perfect alignment with your gum-line, giving a natural appearance. This will involve buffing the teeth receiving the veneers to remove 0.5 - 0.7mm of enamel so your new teeth do not appear oversize when compared to your natural teeth.
Once your veneers are received from the dental laboratory, they are checked for fit, comfort and appearance and permanently bonded with specially developed dental cement, and polished to a translucent lustre. If you a would like a whiter smile, a whitening treatment must be conducted prior to the placement of your new veneers as they are ceramic and will not able to be colour changed once bonded.
It is highly recommended that you schedule professional cleaning appointments with our hygienists every six months to keep your veneers in pristine condition, and so they may also perform regular health checks on your gums.
